Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students:

We hope your summer continues to go well.  We have been busy here at Hungerford and I would like to inform you of some very exciting news! Hungerford Elementary continues to be a “C.”  We are truly working hard and paving our way to an “A!” We have new school hours this year. The new school hours are 8:45am – 3:00pm. The faculty, staff, and students worked extremely hard last year and we thank you for your support! We are excited about getting the school year started so we can begin earning our “A!”

I would like to inform you of a few upcoming events and important dates.  The new school year begins Monday, August 13th.  We will have “Meet the Teacher” on Thursday, August 9th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. During this time, you will be able to go directly to the class to meet your child’s teacher. There will be more information sent through our Connect Orange telephone message system closer to the event.  In addition to “Meet the Teacher, we will have a “Sneak Peek” event for any community member that would like to take a tour of the new school. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for PTO and receive information about the new school year.  Supply lists for each grade level are included in this newsletter.  Supplies can be purchased at Walmart, Walgreens and Office Depot, etc.  If you purchase supplies at Office Depot, tell them you are a Hungerford parent and 5% goes back to the school.  If you are having financial difficulty purchasing school supplies, please see Ms. Penny in the main office.

We have also provided information about the dress code.  As you are aware, we will continue to implement our mandatory uniform policy this year. Uniform tops will be on sale at “Meet the Teacher.”   Blue and black Jeans have been added to the dress code! The school registration office is open Monday through Friday 8:00-4:00. Our goal is to have all students registered by the first day of school.  Connect Orange messages will continue to be sent throughout the summer.  If you are not receiving the messages, please call the school with an updated phone number. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school at 407-623-1430. We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
