Principal’s Message
From the Desk of the Principal:
Dear Parents and Students,
We hope your summer continues to go well. The faculty, staff and students worked extremely hard last year and we thank you for your support! We are excited about getting the school year started so we can continue on the path to success.
The start of the new school year is fast approaching. I would like to inform you of a few upcoming events and important dates. The new school year begins Monday, August 11th. We will have “Meet the Teacher” on Thursday, August 7th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. During this time, you will be able to go directly to the class to meet your child’s teacher. There will be more information sent through our Connect Orange telephone message system and ParentSquare closer to the event. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for PTO and receive information about the new school year.
Good News! – Our Partners in Education will be donating school supplies for every student at Hungerford. There is no need to purchase any supplies at this time.
We have also provided information about the dress code. As you are aware, we will continue to implement our mandatory uniform policy this year. Uniform tops on sale now in our front office and may also be purchased at “Meet the Teacher.” Blue and Black Jeans have been added to the dress code!
The office is open Monday through Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Beginning August 8th, we will reopen on Fridays. Our goal is to have all students registered by the first day of school. Our kindergarten classes are filling up so let’s get them registered! Connect Orange messages will continue to be sent throughout the summer. If you are not receiving the messages, please call the school with an updated phone number. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school @ 407-623-1430. We look forward to seeing you on August 11th!
As principal, it is my responsibility to make sure each child is provided a safe and orderly learning environment. Your help is greatly appreciated in the areas below.
Attendance: make sure your child attends school daily and on time. If your child is absent, please send a letter or note explaining the reason for absence. Classwork and homework must be made up in a reasonable amount of time.
Morning Drop Off: School begins at 8:45am. Students are not allowed on campus before 8:00am. If you need morning child care, please contact Mrs. Cardona, our assistant principal. Students who eat breakfast at school must be in the cafeteria by 8:35am every morning.
Afternoon Pick-up: School ends at 3:00pm and 2:00pm on Wednesdays. Please be on time for afternoon pick-up and remain in your vehicles. If you need to change how your child is dismissed from school, please write a note to your child's teacher.
Campus Visits: If you are coming to visit our campus for any reason, you must park in the teacher's parking lot and present your driver’s license as you check in at the front office.
On behalf of the staff, thank you for entrusting your child to us. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
Mrs. Harris
Principal
